The history of Annedeen goes back to 1946 when it was known as Major Dye Works.  In 1952, a separate company known as Puritan was bought to do finishing.  In 1958, the owners incorporated Annedeen Hosiery Mills as a separate company.  In 1964, all companies merged under the name Annedeen Hosiery Mills, Inc. giving them complete knitting, dyeing, boarding, finishing and selling operation.   In 1983, several manufacturing operations were consolidated into the present building.  In August of 1986, Annedeen became part of Cluett, Peabody and Company, that was a wholly owned subsidiary of WestPoint Pepperell.  Bidermann Industries, Inc. acquired Cluett Peabody and Company in March 1990.  Cluett American Group (Vestar Capital Partners) bought the company in 1998.
